GMC is one of America’s most trusted brands, offering quality trucks, SUVs, and more. That’s perhaps one reason the brand has appeared in so many classic films over the years. From The Notebook (2004) to Transformers (2007), you can see GMCs across virtually all genres.

Though few realize it, one of the top GMC film appearances is the 1935 GMC QB in The Notebook. According to The News Wheel, Noah (Ryan Gosling) drives the memorable truck in multiple scenes throughout the early part of the story, showing just how impressive the classic GMC truck truly is.

A 1960 GMC 1500 is also at the heart of The Bridges of Madison County (1995), a film inspired by a novel of the same name. The intimate romance centers on Robert (Clint Eastwood) and Francesca (Meryl Streep), a role that led to an Academy Award nomination for Streep. The GMC 1500 plays an important role in the film as the two lovers drive across Madison County, Iowa to photograph covered bridges.

If you were facing off against aliens, which car would you drive? The creators of Alien vs. Predator (2007) thought the rugged GMC Yukon XL was the perfect SUV for this creative sci-fi film. Combining the worlds of Ridley Scott’s Alien and John McTiernan’s Predator, AvP has since become a favorite among many sci-fi enthusiasts.

Finally, you can see GMC models throughout Michael Bay’s Transformers franchise. Based on the Transformers toy line first introduced in the 1980s, the film series features robot-like aliens that transform into vehicles—some of which are GMC models. This includes the GMC Topkick C4500 used to portray the character Ironhide.

These are just some of the many GMCs in cinema over the years, some of which you can test drive in person at Knight Automotive.
